Cain gave up three runs (two earned) on four hits and a pair of walks over five innings against the Mets on Wednesday.

EDGE Analysis

After he got annihilated for nine runs his last time out, this was certainly better, but Cain certainly wasn't impressive, and he was lifted for a pinch hitter after 78 pitches. Other than that Cinco de Mayo disaster in Cincy, though, the veteran has been surprisingly effective this year. Still, his 4.54 ERA doesn't look good, and his 4.39 FIP and 4.98 xFIP don't offer much hope for improvement.
