Cain (3-1) allowed one run on five hits while walking three and striking out five over 6.2 innings in Monday's 8-4 win over the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander lowered his season ERA to 4.04 with the 112-pitch effort. It was Cain's second win against the Dodgers this year -- he tossed six shutout innings against them for a win back on April 24. He also became the 12th pitcher in franchise history to reach the 2,000-innings mark in the third inning Monday. Aside from a nine-run blowup May 5, Cain has been pretty solid this year. However, his upside remains limited due to his mediocre strikeout rate and recent injury history.
