Burton signed a minor-league contract with the Rangers on Sunday, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. He'll report to Triple-A Round Rock. The Rangers are painfully thin on relief-pitching depth, but Burton could provide some salvation if he's first able to recapture his form at Triple-A. He was released by the Yankees earlier this month after it was apparent he wouldn't be called up in the near future, but his 3.44 ERA and 1.24 WHIP over 361 career innings in the big leagues will result in the Rangers giving him a look.
