Buchholz continued his masterful work, throwing seven shutout frames in a no-decision against the Yankees on Wednesday. He allowed just one hit, struck out six and walked two.
EDGE Analysis
Boston didn't grab the lead until the eighth, as the game remained scoreless until then, so Buchholz wasn't in line for the win, but the Red Sox bullpen blew the game in the ninth anyway. Since allowing six runs against Toronto on Sept. 11, Buchholz has allowed just three runs over 19 frames, and actually, he owns a 2.63 ERA since Aug. 13, and that even includes the outing where he yielded six runs. He's extremely hot heading into October.
