Blue Jays manager John Gibbons on Thursday said he's "not ready to say" that Maicer Izturis has usurped Ryan Goins as the team's starter at second base. Izturis has made four straight starts at second and is batting .385/.429/.423 over 29 plate appearances this season. Goins provides better defense but has just one hit in his first 20 plate appearances. "I'm not ready to say that," Gibbons said. "Izturis gives you some offence and some defense. Goins is a defensive specialist. We think he's going to hit enough. He's off to a slow start but I expect him to improve on that. But right now we're playing the hot hand (Izturis), the guy that's swinging the bat. If we had more guys in the lineup that were swinging it more ... we might go the other way just for the defense."
