Blanks was outrighted from the 40-man roster Wednesday, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Blanks had surgery on both of his Achilles near the beginning of September and it remains to be seen how healthy he might be heading into the offseason. The 29-year-old does have the option to become a free agent, however it remains to be seen whether he will accept his assignment to Triple-A Round Rock.
