This was certainly not the start the veteran lefty was looking to get off to, especially considering that he's coming off a campaign that saw him set all the wrong sorts of career highs. Those struggles have seen Bastardo removed from a high-leverage role in the Pittsburgh bullpen, which will cut into his accumulation of holds -- his one real source of potential fantasy value.
