Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that the Marlins have had "serious discussions" with Garrett Jones. They would want him as a first baseman, which means Logan Morrison could be on his way out. Jackson says the club will explore trade options for LoMo over the next week and could flip him for a third baseman. Jones was non-tendered by the Pirates earlier this week after hitting .233/.289/.419 across 440 plate appearances in 2013.
