Baker collected a pair of hits, score a run and drove in an RBI during Thursday's loss to the Nationals. Baker started in place of Garret Jones at first base with lefty Gio Gonzalez on the mound for Washington. The veteran utility man continues to be an asset against opposing lefties, slashing .322/.365/.470 in 115 at-bats this year. Unfortunately, his meager .195/.237/.310 line against right-handers leaves him as little more than a platoon option at this stage of his career.
