Aybar will start at shortstop and bat seventh Sunday against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Aybar seems to have wrestled the starting gig at shortstop away from Chase d'Arnaud, who has supplied a .206 on-base percentage while striking out in 12 of his 33 at-bats since being claimed off waivers in late May. With a .283 on-base percentage of his own on the season, Aybar hardly profiles as much of an upgrade over d'Arnaud, so it wouldn't be surprising if manager Andy Green eventually turned the position over to a younger, higher-upside option like Allen Cordoba.
