Chirinos was placed on the temporary inactive list Sunday at Triple-A Scranton Wilkes/Barre, Conor Foley of The Scranton Times-Tribune reports.

The veteran backstop will be playing with the Venezuelan national team in an Olympic qualifier, so he'll step away from the RailRiders for a bit. Chirinos is batting .278/.409/.556 with three homers in 44 plate appearances for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season.
