Arencibia signed a minor league contract with the Phillies on Monday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Arencibia was released by the Rays earlier in the offseason, but he performed well when given the opportunity in Tampa, hitting .310 with six homers in 24 games at the big league level last season. He may not get to start the season in the majors, but he should get the opportunity in spring training to earn a spot.
