Angels released 1B Carlos Pena. Pena, 35, hit an ugly .207/.321/.346 with eight homers over 89 games for the Astros and Royals last season. The veteran can still take a walk, but his power, at least according to HR/FB rate, has been sheered in half the past few years. With pitchers no longer afraid to attack the zone, Pena's days of possessing an MLB-worthy bat have ceased.
