Andres Torres will be sidelined for six months after surgery to remove bone spurs from his left Achilles. The assumption when he went on the DL last week was that he'd likely need surgery. Torres is a free agent this winter, so he'll surely have to settle for a deal full of incentives. He won't be recovered by the time spring training starts.
