Kansas City Royals shortstop Alcides Escobar is going to be absent from that spot on the field for the first time in years. On Friday, the Royals will be starting Adalberto Mondesi at shortstop and moving Escobar to center field. This will keep Escobar's consecutive starts streak alive (the longest amongst active players), but it's definitely a changing of the guard. Escobar still won't have any real fantasy value even if he qualifies at outfield as well.
