Adams (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Considering that Adams has been out all summer, it's likely that the Phillies will take it slow with his rehab process, and he could return in early-to-mid September to a mid-inning role in the big-league bullpen. Ken Giles, however, has staked a firm claim to the eighth inning and is the Phillies' closer in waiting.
