St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Adam Wainwright (groin) was able to throw a successful 28-pitch bullpen session on Thursday. Manager Oliver Marmol said that Wainwright is scheduled to throw another session on Sunday. If all goes well, Wainwright is expected to begin a minor league rehab assignment. The expectation is that Wainwright will need at least two rehab starts before rejoining the Cardinals. Possibly, the right-hander is back before the end of April.
