According to Buster Olney of ESPN.com, nine teams called Nate Schierholtz's representatives within 12 hours after he was non-tendered by the Phillies. Olney lists the Yankees as one of the clubs that have interest and speculates that the Rays could be players, as well. Schierholtz possesses a so-so career .270/.319/.409 batting line but offers good defense on the outfield corners. Any team that signs him would likely be counting on him in a complementary role.
