Kinsler is hitting seventh and starting at second base against the Rockies on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Kinsler was the Padres' presumptive leadoff hitter coming out of spring training, but he's off to a brutal start to the season, hitting .160 through 50 at-bats and he hasn't manned the top of the order since April 9. Until he shows signs of breaking out of the slump, the veteran figures to continue to occupy a lower spot in the order. Manuel Margot has led off four out of San Diego's last five games, with Wil Myers getting the nod for the role in the other.

Kinsler is not in the lineup Thursday against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Kinsler started nine of the first 10 games but has since sat for two of the last four. That could start happening more frequently with Luis Urias now on the big-league roster, especially as Kinsler is hitting just .171. Urias starts at second base Thursday.

Kinsler is not in the lineup Monday against the Giants, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kinsler will head to the bench for Monday's series opener after starting the previous six games. Luis Urias, who was recently recalled from Triple-A El Paso, will start at second base and hit leadoff in place of Kinsler. The veteran second baseman is hitting just .176/.263/.294 through nine games this season, so he could start to lose out on playing time to Urias if he doesn't turn things around.

Kinsler is back in the lineup, starting at second base and hitting leadoff for Monday's game against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Kinsler received the day off Sunday, but he'll resume his spot atop the order as the Padres kick off their series against Arizona. He's 3-for-11 with a home run and a double so far this season.

Kinsler is not in the lineup Sunday against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Kinsler has started and hit atop the Padres' order in each of the team's first three games. He's reached base in each, and already has two extra-base hits. However, he'll make his way to the bench and be replaced by Greg Garcia on Sunday.

Kinsler went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and walk in a 4-1 victory against the Giants on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The homer was his first with the Padres. Splitting time with the Angels and Red Sox last season, Kinsler hit just 14 home runs, but in the previous two years with the Tigers, he reached the 20-homer plateau. Getting back to that mark playing a majority of his games in pitcher-friendly Petco Park will be difficult, but it's good to see Kinsler settle into his new home.

Kinsler (finger) will start at second base and hit leadoff in Saturday's Cactus League game against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Kinsler jammed his finger earlier in the week and had been withheld from the San Diego lineup for the previous three days. The extra rest was apparently all Kinsler need to put the injury behind him, so he'll look to continue his hot start to the spring as he rejoins the starting nine. The 36-year-old is hitting .412 with a home run, stolen base and five RBI across 17 at-bats.
