Blanco was placed on the 15-day DL on Tuesday with a right shoulder impingement.
EDGE Analysis
Gorkys Hernandez will join the major league club for the first time this season with Blanco slated to miss at least a couple weeks as a result of the shoulder injury. Blanco has struggled to the tune of a .225/.310/.313 line in 101 games this season, but he's the Giants' top reserve outfielder (pretty much by default) since he can play center field. He figures to return to that role once healthy.

Blanco got the start in left field in place of the injured Angel Pagan (groin). He went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in Sunday's loss to the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Pagan pulled up with a groin injury during Saturday night's contest, opening the door for Blanco to get a start Sunday. Manager Bruce Bochy stated that Pagan's injury isn't serious and that he could return Tuesday. If that holds true, it would render Blanco useless as a potential pickup. Either way, he is batting .083 in 26 August plate appearances, so few owners would be clamoring to the waiver wire to pick him up even if he fell into some playing time.

Blanco is out of the lineup Sunday against the Yankees, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Blanco will now be on the bench for the third time in four games, and with two of his absences coming against right-handed pitchers, it appears that Mac Williamson has now passed Blanco up on the depth chart. The Giants are also expected to get Hunter Pence (hamstring) back from the DL perhaps as soon as this week, which will make starting opportunities even harder to come by for Blanco.

Blanco is not in the lineup Saturday against the Yankees, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Blanco is getting his first break from game action since July 6 as Mac Williamson fills in for him in right, batting eighth. Blanco has been struggling since the end of June, collecting just six hits in his last 20 games (40 AB's).

Blanco is in the lineup Sunday against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Blanco has had a reduced role as of late, having just eight plate appearances over the last seven days, as he dealt with a knee injury. However, he'll start in place of Mac Williamson in right field for Sunday's game before the Giants head into the All-Star break.

Blanco (knee) is available to come into the game Wednesday against the Rockies, freelance writer Andrew Baggarly reports.
EDGE Analysis
Blanco has been out since July 3 with a sore knee, but could be back in action as a pinch-hitter Wednesday. He was scratched from Tuesday's lineup and was out of the lineup Wednesday with Mac Williamson (right), Angel Pagan (center) and Jarrett Parker (left) comprising the outfield spots for the finale of the series against Colorado. While he is available, Blanco's status still requires monitoring until he gets back in the lineup.

Blanco (knee) was scratched from Tuesday's lineup, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Angel Pagan is now slated to lead off with Jarrett Parker in center field and the two-hole against right-hander Tyler Chatwood. Apparently, Blanco is still dealing with some soreness in his knee, an issue which kept him out Sunday and Monday. His status for Wednesday is up in the air.

Blanco (knee) is back in the lineup Tuesday against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Knee soreness cost Blanco a couple starts, but he will slot back in atop the order Tuesday against right-hander Tyler Chatwood. Denard Span (neck) is in danger of landing on the DL, and if a move is indeed made, Blanco would likely see regular time in center field and the leadoff spot until Span returns.

Blanco (knee) is much improved since being a late scratch from the lineup Sunday, Hank Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Denard Span (neck) possibly headed to the DL, Blanco will likely see an uptick in playing time in the final days leading into the All-Star break, assuming that he continues his progress back toward a return.

Blanco (knee) remains out of the lineup Monday against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Blanco was a late scratch from Sunday's lineup card, and manager Bruce Bochy will give him an extra day of rest just to be safe. In his stead, Bochy will roll with an outfield composed of Jarrett Parker (left), Angel Pagan (center) and Mac Williamson (right). Blanco should be considered day-to-day until the team provides an update on his condition. If it truly is just general soreness, he should return to action at some point this week.
