Pedroia will serve as Boston's designated hitter and leadoff man in Sunday's game against the Orioles, Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pedroia's move to the top of the lineup will likely just be a one-off arrangement with normal table setter Andrew Benintendi getting a maintenance day. Since returning from the 10-day injured list April 9, Pedroia has appeared in three games, going 2-for-11 with a walk, RBI and a run scored.

Pedroia is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Orioles, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pedroia returned to action Tuesday after missing nearly 11 months with a knee injury and went 1-for-4 in each of his first two games. The Red Sox figure to give the 35-year-old fairly regular days off given the extensive layoff. Eduardo Nunez will start at the keystone and bat seventh in his absence.

Pedroia made his season debut and went 1-for-4 with a single in Tuesday's 7-5 loss to the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Pedroia played his first game after missing nearly 11 months due to a knee injury. There was one mildly scary moment in the seventh inning when outfielder Teoscar Hernandez's spike got caught in Pedroia's shoelace on a stolen base attempt, but the 35-year-old second baseman was fine. Look for him to be in the lineup Thursday after an off-day Wednesday.

The Red Sox activated Pedroia (knee) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports. He'll start at second base and hit seventh in Boston's home opener against the Blue Jays, according to Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran second baseman will make his first regular-season appearance since May 31, 2018 after completing a lengthy rehab program from knee surgery that stretched into spring training. Though the 2008 AL MVP likely won't be asked to handle an everyday role this season after back-to-back injury shortened campaigns, Pedroia should still see the bulk of the action at the keystone moving forward, resulting in Eduardo Nunez handling more of a utility role for the Red Sox.

Pedroia (knee) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pedroia is slated to play a full nine-inning game Sunday for Low-A Greenville, marking the final step in his lengthy recovery from left knee surgery. Assuming Pedroia's knee responds well to the activity, he'll rejoin the Red Sox in Boston and could enter the lineup for his season debut Tuesday. President of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski said prior to spring training that he's hopeful Pedroia can be a 120-game player in 2019, meaning the 35-year-old is more likely to be used as part of a timeshare at the keystone rather than as a full-time starter.

Pedroia (knee) went 2-for-3 in his first rehabilitation start Thursday for Low-A Greenville.
EDGE Analysis
Pedroia flawlessly executed all of his chances in the field and played nine innings. He'll follow up with games Friday and Sunday, with the goal of having him ready by Opening Day next Tuesday. The Red Sox could really use Pedroia's intensity, something the team's lacked on its mistake-laden road trip to start the season.

Pedroia (knee) will play at least three games for Low-A Greenville, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pedroia, who played nine innings in an extended spring training game Tuesday, will play back-to-back games for the Drive on Thursday and Friday, then another nine innings on Sunday following a rest day. Manager Alex Cora said the team will regroup and assess Pedroia's progress. He could be ready to go for Boston's home opener next Tuesday.

Pedroia (knee) will make a rehab start Thursday for Low-A Greenville, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran wanted to play on Opening Day, but the Red Sox held him back and started him on the injured list, a sensible move for a player who played in just three games last season. It remains to be seen how many rehab appearances he'll make, but there's little reason to believe the team would suddenly abandon its cautious approach.

The Red Sox placed Pedroia (knee) on the 10-day injured list Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The move was merely a formality prior to Thursday's season opener versus the Mariners, as manager Alex Cora confirmed March 18 that Pedroia would remain at extended spring training to continue rehabbing his surgically repaired left knee. Once Pedroia gets some more at-bats under his belt and plays back-to-back games in the field in simulated or minor-league games, he should get the call to rejoin the Red Sox. In the meantime, Eduardo Nunez and Brock Holt are slated to share duties at the keystone.
