Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Monday that LeMahieu's left foot injury could "cost him some days here," Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
LeMahieu fouled a ball off the foot during a Grapefruit League contest Saturday. X-rays came back negative, and while LeMahieu is feeling better, he still remains sore and will need a few days of rest. The Yankees will wait and see how the infielder responds over the next few days before having a better feel for his status.

LeMahieu fouled a ball off his left foot during Saturday's Grapefruit League game against Toronto and received X-rays that came back clean after the contest, Max Goodman of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.
EDGE Analysis
Per manager Aaron Boone, LeMahieu will get treatment on the injured foot in Tampa on Sunday. While X-rays Saturday came back negative, it's uncertain if the issue will result in LeMahieu missing any time at the start of the regular season. If that were to be the case, Oswaldo Cabrera could be called upon to step into the starting lineup at third base.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone indicated in an interview with Foul Territory on Friday that he'd like to see LeMahieu win the team's leadoff spot.
EDGE Analysis
The skipper isn't committing to any lineup spots yet, but he noted when discussing the leadoff spot that he was "excited" with how LeMahieu finished the season and is hoping the 35-year-old can "solve" the leadoff spot for the Yanks. Boone also mentioned Alex Verdugo and Gleyber Torres as potential leadoff candidates. The manager is tentatively planning to hit Juan Soto second and Aaron Judge third.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Wednesday that LeMahieu will be the club's starting third baseman in 2024, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
LeMahieu has bounced around all over the infield during his time with the Yankees, but it sounds like the club would like to have him focus mostly on third base next season. What that means for Oswald Peraza isn't clear, as the rest of the Yanks' infield spots already appear spoken for.
