Mesoraco will serve as the Mets' catcher and bat seventh Sunday against the Phillies, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Mets have wasted no time installing Mesoraco as their primary backstop after acquiring him from the Reds on Tuesday. He'll pick up his third consecutive start behind the plate Sunday and should amount to a vast offensive upgrade over Jose Lobaton, who has since settled into the clear backup role.

Mesoraco was traded from the Reds to the Mets on Tuesday in exchange for Matt Harvey.
EDGE Analysis
With Travis d'Arnaud (elbow) out for the remainder of the season and Kevin Plawecki (hand) without a timetable for his return, the Mets opted to bring in Mesoraco. The 29-year-old backstop is hitting just .220/.289/.341 through 18 games this season, but he's proven he can be a serviceable backstop when healthy, as evidenced by his 2014 All-Star campaign. That said, he's played just 113 games over the past four seasons combined due to injuries, so staying healthy is far from a given. Mesoraco should be given the opportunity to take over as the team's primary catcher.

Mesoraco (neck) will start at catcher and bat sixth Thursday against the Braves, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mesoraco's stiff neck had kept him out of the lineup for the past three games, but because he typically only plays a couple times per week, the Reds didn't need to call up an extra catcher from the minors in the short term. After taking some time to rest up, Mesoraco will be ready to step in for Tucker Barnhart as the Reds play a day game after a night game.

Mesoraco (neck) is not in the lineup against the Braves on Wednesday, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Tucker Barnhart will handle the catching duties and bat seventh during Wednesday's tilt. The Reds have yet to describe whether Mesoraco's status at this point, so continue to consider him day-to-day.

Mesoraco (wrist) is starting at catcher and batting sixth Sunday against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Mesoraco suffered a bruised right wrist Tuesday against the Brewers but was able to make a pinch-hit appearance Friday and will now carry starting duties Sunday. The wrist injury is behind him and he should be good to go as the Reds' reserve catcher moving forward.

Mesoraco (wrist) is out of the lineup against the Cardinals on Saturday, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mesoraco was able to pinch hit during Friday's contest, which marked his first at-bat since going down with a wrist injury Tuesday. It doesn't appear as though he's ready to return to the field just yet, but he will likely be available off the bench yet again Saturday. Consider him day-to-day ahead of Sunday's series finale.

Mesoraco (wrist) will attempt to resume hitting Friday but is unlikely to play against the Cardinals, John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mesoraco is dealing with a right wrist contusion which occurred when he was struck by a pitch during Tuesday's game in Milwaukee. The catcher was held out of Wednesday's contest but will require some more time off to let the area heal. Expect Tucker Barnhart to start the next couple games in his absence.

Mesoraco exited Tuesday's game against the Brewers with a bruised right wrist.
EDGE Analysis
Mesoraco was hit by a pitch in the second inning Wednesday, but remained in the game until the sixth inning. Fortunately X-rays came back negative as it looks to be a day-to-day injury for the 29-year-old, although he could be held out Wednesday with the Reds' off day Thursday providing potential for an additional day of rest.
