Span went 1-for-2 with an RBI single, two walks and two stolen bases in a blowout loss to the Orioles on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
He was the only bright spot on a nightmarish afternoon for the Rays, turning in a second consecutive productive effort. Span got on base a total of six times in nine plate appearances across the last two installments of the four-game set against the Orioles, pushing his OBP to an eye-popping .409 over 11 May games. The veteran is also starting to assert his presence on the base paths, as he's tallied three of his five steals during the month as well.

Span went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and a run in a loss to the Orioles on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran did his job setting the table out of the top of the order while reaching safely for the seventh time in the last eight games. Span has an impressive .373 OBP over his first 126 plate appearances, a figure partly attributed to a career-high 15.9 percent walk rate.

Span is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
As per usual, Span will take a seat on the bench with a left-handed starter (Sean Newcomb) getting the ball for the opposition. Rob Refnsyder will start in left field and bat eighth in his stead.

Span is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Span has settled in at the plate as of late, hitting .310 with three homers and 13 RBI over the past 14 games. He'll head to the bench for a night off with lefty Matt Boyd hurling for Detroit, though. Johnny Field will log a start in left field to replace him.

Span went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's loss to the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
After hitting an inside-the-park home run Saturday, Span launched a home run in Sunday's series finale versus Boston, bringing his homer total up to three for the season. After playing in 22 games, Span is slashing .268/.384/.437 and has stolen two bases.

Span went 2-for-4 with a walk and a two-run, inside-the-park home run in Saturday's win over the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Jackie Bradley misread a ball hit to center field and fell down, allowing Span to hustle all the way around the bases. It counts as a long ball all the same. Span is now up to 19 RBI to go with 12 runs and a .384 on-base percentage. He's locked in as the Rays' leadoff hitter against right-handed pitching.

Span is not in the lineup Friday against Boston, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Span will get a breather after starting six straight games. The veteran is hitting a solid .254/.363/.388 with a homer and a pair of steals through 80 plate appearances. Rob Refsnyder gets the nod in left field in his place.

Span went 2-for-5 with a double and two runs in a win over the Orioles on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Span's bat has come alive after a moribund start to his season that had his average sitting at .194 as recently as April 13. The veteran outfielder has hit in six straight since that point, churning out four multi-hit outings in the process. Moreover, his production has largely been timely, as he's accumulated nine of his 17 RBI during that span.

Span went 2-for-5 with a run scored and three RBI in Saturday's 10-1 win over the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Despite the fact that he's hitting leadoff for the Rays, Span has suddenly become a run-producing machine, collecting nine RBI in his last four games to give him 17 on the season -- tying him for fourth in the American League behind the unlikely trio of Jed Lowrie (23), Carlos Correa (18) and Didi Gregorius (18). Neither Span's career history nor his spot in the lineup offer any hope that he'll keep this up much longer, but hitting leadoff should also allow him to retain some fantasy value even after he cools down.

Span went 2-for-5 with a walk, a double, a run scored, three RBI and a stolen base in Friday's 8-7 extra-inning win over the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
The steal was only his second of the season, but otherwise Span has been impressive in the leadoff spot for the Rays, slashing .250/.373/.417 through 16 games with a homer and 14 RBI. He's only crossed the plate five times thanks to the struggles of the hitters behind him, but as long as he keeps getting on base, Span's run total will come around.
