Green posted a save against the Orioles on Thursday, allowing one run on two hits while striking out one batter over one inning.
EDGE Analysis
It didn't look like Green would be needed in the contest with Toronto carrying a 7-2 lead into the bottom of the ninth inning. However, reliever Zach Pop couldn't record an out while loading the bases, so Green was brought in to contain the damage. He didn't do remarkably well himself, as a fielder's choice, a double and a single allowed Baltimore to bring the deficit to within one run. However, Green was able to get Anthony Santander to fly out with the tying run on first base to end the threat and record his 10th save. Green hasn't blown a save this season and is firmly entrenched in the closer role with Yimi Garcia now in Seattle and Jordan Romano uncertain to return in 2024 due to an elbow injury.

Green struck out one in a perfect ninth inning to earn the save in a 5-2 win over the Orioles on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Green was summoned to protect a 5-2 lead in the ninth inning and did so on just 12 pitches, including a three-pitch strikeout of Gunnar Henderson. The 33-year-old has converted all nine of his save chances this season while posting a sterling 1.51 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 32:10 K:BB across 35.2 innings.

Green struck out the side in a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his eighth save of the season in an 8-5 win over the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Facing the top of New York's order, Green needed 16 pitches to sit down Alex Verdugo, Juan Soto and Aaron Judge in a very impressive performance. The right-hander appears set as the Blue Jays' closer for the rest of the season unless Jordan Romano is able to make a late return from arthroscopic surgery on his elbow, and Green has earned the role by posting a 1.84 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 16:5 K:BB through 14.2 innings since the beginning of July while converting all six of his save chances.

Green (3-2) picked up the win in Friday's 6-5 victory over the Rangers, striking out two batters over 1.1 perfect innings of relief.
EDGE Analysis
Green breezed through the top of the Texas order on 17 pitches (11 strikes), and he got rewarded when Ernie Clement dropped a walk-off single into left field in the bottom of the ninth. The veteran-right-hander has a clear path to the Blue Jays' closing job with Yimi Garcia now a Mariner and Jordan Romano (elbow) not even expected to resume throwing until mid-August, but with Toronto in sell mode at the trade deadline, Green could also wind up following Garcia out the door. Since returning from a shoulder issue in late May, Green has delivered a 1.54 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 20:7 K:BB in 23.1 innings while collecting two wins, four holds and five saves.

Green picked up the save Sunday against Detroit, throwing 1.2 perfect innings with no strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
Even with Yimi Garcia off the injured list, it was Green who received the first save opportunity coming out of the All-Star break. Sunday's result is a positive sign for fantasy managers who banked on Green to retain closing duties after being thrust into the role due to injuries. However, Sunday's save doesn't indicate that Green will be the Blue Jays' primary ninth-inning option moving forward. Garcia pitched the ninth inning of Saturday's loss, and it's possible that the team didn't want to pitch Garcia on back-to-back nights because of his recent injury. Additionally, Toronto could opt to split save opportunities until one of the two emerges as the clear option. Overall, managers should have cautious optimism about Green's closing chances.

Green picked up a four out save in Sunday's 8-7 win over the Diamondbacks. He allowed a hit and struck out one in a scoreless outing.
EDGE Analysis
Green was able to help the Blue Jays hang on to the win after they blew a seven-run lead in the fifth. He allowed a two-out single to Christian Walker to put the tying run on base but was able to get Corbin Carroll to fly out to end the game. Green now has piled on four of his six saves this month despite allowing runs in three of his seven appearances. He'll head into the break boasting a sparkling 2.08 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 24:9 K:BB in 26 innings so far this season.

Green picked up the save Thursday against San Francisco, striking out one and allowing a solo home run in the ninth inning.
EDGE Analysis
Green retired Michael Conforto and Matt Chapman to start the bottom of the ninth inning, but was taken yard by Mike Yastrzemski before closing out the frame and earning his fifth save of the season. Green's allowed five runs in 24.0 innings this season, each of which have come via solo homer. The 33-year-old is expected to hand over closing duties to Yimi Garcia (elbow) when Garcia is activated off the IL but in the meantime, Green should continue to see ninth-inning work for Toronto.

Green (2-1) took the win Sunday against Seattle, allowing two hits and a walk with two strikeouts across a scoreless inning.
EDGE Analysis
Green entered the game in the bottom of the ninth inning with the score 4-4, and although he let runners reach second and third with one out, Green was able to send the game to extra innings, where the Blue Jays would deliver Green his second victory. The 33-year-old has allowed just one run in his last 9.2 innings and has been the Blue Jays' impromptu closer in the wake of injuries to Jordan Romano (elbow) and Yimi Garcia (elbow). Prior to being shelved, Garcia was firmly ahead of Green for save chances, but with Green in the midst of an exceptional season highlighted by what would be a career-best 1.57 ERA, the closing role may no longer be as cut and dry.

Green notched a save against the Mariners on Saturday, allowing one run on one hit while striking out two batters over 1.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Green was deployed with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning and struck out Cal Raleigh to preserve a two-run Toronto lead. He returned in the ninth frame and worked around a one-out solo shot by Luke Raley to nail down the save. Green has two saves over the past four days and has allowed just three earned runs -- all on solo homers -- over 21 innings since the start of April. However, he could see less closing opportunities with Yimi Garcia nearing a return from an elbow injury.

Green picked up the save Tuesday against Houston, allowing one hit and no walks with two strikeouts across a scoreless inning.
EDGE Analysis
Green has stepped into a temporary ninth-inning role with Jordan Romano (elbow) and Yimi Garcia (elbow) shelved. Though the pair have been sidelined for multiple weeks, Tuesday's contest was the first save opportunity offered since and Green stepped up and converted. Green has been exceptional for the Blue Jays this season, owning a 1.37 ERA with a 17:4 K:BB across 19.2 innings.
