Cesar Izturis (elbow) went 0-for-2 with a strikeout Friday in his first minor league rehab game with the Gulf Coast League Orioles. Izturis also played five innings at second base. He's expected to continue his rehab on Saturday and Sunday with Double-A Bowie. If all goes well, the veteran infielder could be rejoin the Orioles as soon as next week. Izturis is currently making his way back from elbow surgery in May.
