After spending his entire seven-year career with Minnesota, the 32-year-old will move on and try to make an impression in the Royals organization. The strength of the Royals' bullpen means Duensing will have to step his game up in 2016 if he wants to become a significant contributor.

Duensing retired the only batter he faced in Monday's win over Baltimore. He hasn't give up a run in his last eight innings over six appearances to lower his ERA to 6.30. Duensing had a terrible start to the season as he gave up nine earned runs and had just a 5:6 K:BB ratio in 10.2 innings in April and May. Duensing has been outstanding against left-handed batters in his career (.609 OPS allowed), but lefties have an .837 OPS against him this year. The Twins have been searching for a lefty specialist as a result with Ryan O'Rourke called from Triple-A to audition for the role. Duensing could move into more high-leverage roles if his recent hot streak continues.
