Phillips went 2-for-4 with a double in Tuesday's 1-0 loss to the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
Phillips was the only batter to log hits against Justin Verlander and Ken Giles in a combined shutout. The veteran second baseman is slashing just .239/.255/.261 since joining the Angels. That said, Phillips has scored six runs and stolen a base in 10 games while serving as the club's leadoff hitter, so he can still provide value even if his bat hasn't made the trip west yet.

Phillips led off and went 2-for-5 with a pair of runs scored in Sunday's 7-6 loss to Texas.
EDGE Analysis
Phillips is just 3-for-15 since joining the Angels on Sept. 1, but he has acted as the team's leadoff hitter in all three starts. The veteran second baseman may be getting long in the tooth, but his consistent production (.287 with 11 home runs and 10 stolen bases) has kept him relevant in most fantasy formats this season. At the bare minimum, Phillips should be an excellent source of runs scored while batting in front of Mike Trout for the final month of the regular season.

Phillips will start at second base and lead off against the Rangers in his Angels debut Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Cameron Maybin was dealt to Houston in one of several moves the Angels made at the waiver-trade deadline, and it looks like Phillips may be his primary replacement atop the order. Phillips is walking at just a 3.8 percent clip, but he's hitting over .290 for a third straight season and he can still run a little bit. The move from Atlanta to Anaheim should provide a nice boost to Phillips' fantasy value.

Phillips has been traded to the Angels, The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Braves scratched Phillips from their lineup earlier Thursday, fueling rumors that the veteran infielder could be on the move. While the other pieces of the trade have yet to be announced, Phillips is indeed heading to the Angels. No team in the majors has had less production from the second base spot in terms of wOBA (.258) than the Angels, so Phillips presents a significant upgrade and should slot into a regular role with his new club.

Phillips was scratched from the lineup for Thursday's game against the Cubs, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear whether there's an injury in play for Phillips at this point, but he will be on the bench to start Thursday's game regardless. Ozzie Albies will bat second and start at second base.

Phillips is not in the lineup for Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Phillips went 1-for-6 with one RBI during Game 1, and will receive a game off for the first time since Aug. 1. In his place, Jace Peterson draws the start at the hot corner.

Manager Brian Snitker said that Phillips will be the Braves' primary third baseman moving forward, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Ozzie Albies in the majors to play second base, the Braves will move the veteran infielder off his natural position in order to keep his bat in the lineup. This bodes well for his fantasy value if he can log enough starts to pick up third base eligibility, although there's a good chance that the Braves could trade Phillips elsewhere before that happens, so this is certainly a situation worth monitoring as the month rolls along. His tenure as the primary third baseman will begin Wednesday night, as he's starting at the hot corner for the first time in his career.

Phillips is starting at third base Wednesday against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Now that top prospect Ozzie Albies is in the majors to act as the primary second baseman, Phillips will move aside to make his inaugural appearance at the hot corner. The veteran infielder will still hit second in the Braves' order it seems, although although he very well could move back to second base before he gains third base eligibility if he's traded before the end of August.

Manager Brian Snitker indicated that Phillips, who is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Dodgers, will no longer be used as the Braves' regular second baseman, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports. Phillips could, however, see more usage at third base in the games to come.
EDGE Analysis
The Braves called up one of their top hitting prospects in Ozzie Albies from Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday, and Snitker immediately suggested that the youngster will settle in as the primary option at the keystone as Atlanta turns its focus to building for the future. When he was acquired in the offseason, the 36-year-old Phillips was never viewed as a permanent solution in the middle infield, but he's been a surprisingly steady contributor all season, batting .290 and producing 35 extra-base hits and nine steals over 385 plate appearances. That could entice a team to trade for Phillips prior to the August 31 waiver deadline, and if he shows the ability to play a capable third base, it would probably only enhance his value in the eyes of contending clubs. Even if Phillips does see more time at third base, it seems unlikely that he'll start as regularly as he did in the first three months of the season, so that could cause him to lose some appeal from a fantasy standpoint.

Phillips is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Phillips started the past eight games, and with prospect Ozzie Albies joining the team Tuesday, the veteran will get a night off. Albies could start to steal more starts at the keystone from Phillips moving forward as well, although the Braves are continuing their search for a suitor willing to acquire the 36-year-old's services via trade before the end of August, which could help Phillips garner a stronger foothold on playing time and potentially even for a better ball club.
