Barry Zito took a no-decision in Sunday's 9-6 win over the Rockies, allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks in 5 1/3 innings. Zito struck out three in his third non-quality start in four outings. The owner of a 5.05 ERA in 35 2/3 innings since the All-Star break, Zito's ragged mixed-league glory has long since faded. He'll get the Padres in San Diego next weekend.

Barry Zito was lifted after allowing seven runs in 4 1/3 innings against the Mets on Thursday. Zito has allowed 11 runs in his last two starts, taking his ERA from 3.75 to 4.27. With the Cardinals up next on the schedule, Zito needs to be sat down in NL-only leagues until he starts throwing better.

Barry Zito was hit hard in Saturday's loss to the Dodgers, allowing four runs on seven hits over his 5 1/3 innings of work. Zito fanned four while walking one on the evening. Matt Kemp got the scoring started early in this one, launching a two-run homer to center field in the first inning. The Dodgers would tack on a run in the fifth on a sacrifice fly, and another in the sixth on an RBI double from Jerry Hairston Jr. With the loss, Zito falls to 8-7 on the season, though he still owns a very respectable 3.89 ERA over his first 20 starts. He'll look to put this one behind him and get back in the win column when he squares off against the Mets at home on Thursday.

Barry Zito allowed three runs on five hits in seven innings of Sunday's 12-inning loss to the Phillies. Zito struck out seven and walked one. His two biggest mistakes of the day came in the fourth and eighth innings, where he served up solo home runs to John Mayberry. Zito has had a few rough patches this season, but has mostly been excellent, and is now the owner of a 3.75 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 66/50 K/BB ratio through 112 2/3 frames. Quality in four of his past five starts, he'll get the Dodgers at home next weekend.

Barry Zito had little trouble slicing through the Braves' batting order Tuesday, spinning seven shutout innings on just three hits and a walk in the 9-0 win. He struck out four and needed 106 pitches to get through the seven frames. Zito entered the game with a 5.19 ERA on the road this season and was going up against a hot team, so it's an unexpected superb performance. He'll carry a 3.75 ERA and 1.37 WHIP into Philly this weekend.

Barry Zito pitched a solid game in a losing effort against the Reds on Saturday, surrendering just one run on five hits over his six innings of work. Zito struggled with his command again, walking six on the game, while striking out three. The only run allowed was courtesy of a bases loaded walk to Ryan Hanigan in the fourth inning. While he's been inconsistent, and downright laughable at times, Zito is now 6-6 with a 3.84 ERA and has been one of the best fifth starters in all of baseball. He'll go in search of his seventh victory when he does battle against the Pirates in Pittsburgh on Friday.

Barry Zito blanked the Dodgers for seven innings in the Giants' 8-0 victory on Monday. That's twice in five starts this month that Zito hasn't given up a run. Of course, he's allowed 17 runs in 14 1/3 innings in the other three outings. Tread very carefully.

The Angels blasted Barry Zito for eight runs on nine hits over 3 1/3 innings. He walked three and struck out just one. On June 3, Zito was 5-2 with a 2.98 ERA. In three outings since, he has given up 17 earned runs over 14 1/3 innings and walked more batters than he has struck out to drop to 5-5 with a 4.35 ERA. Bad Barry is back and should be benched in mixed leagues.

Barry Zito scattered just four hits across 8 1/3 scoreless innings Sunday, striking out five and walking two as he improved to 5-2 in San Francisco's 2-0 win over the Cubs. Manager Bruce Bochy gave Zito a chance at his second shutout of the year, but went to Sergio Romo after Zito issued a one-out walk. Zito appeared to hit the skids in mid-May after getting off to a strong start this season, but has now allowed just two runs across his past two starts and 15 1/3 innings. There will surely be more bumps along the road, but San Francisco's $126 million man appears poised to hold his value in mixed leagues. He'll bring a 2.98 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 39/28 K/BB ratio into his Friday start against the Rangers. Even though it's in San Francisco, keep him benched for that one.

Barry Zito bounced back from a rough outing against the Brewers to allow two runs over seven-plus innings Monday in a defeat of the Diamondbacks. Zito was pulled after giving up John McDonald's pinch-hit homer to start the eighth. The bullpen protected a 4-2 lead from there, giving Zito his fourth win in 10 starts this season. He has a 3.41 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP.
