Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that Andy Pettitte will be represented by Jim Murray at Excel Sports Management. It was previously reported that Pettitte would be Casey Close, who runs the baseball division at Excel Sports Management. Murray previously worked for the Hendricks brothers, so it appears Pettitte is simply following his agent to his new place of work. The veteran southpaw has yet to make a decision on whether he'll return for 2013, but the Yankees are optimistic he'll be back.

According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, Andy Pettitte is now represented by Casey Close of Excel Sports Management. It's a bit of a surprise, as Pettitte was represented by the Hendricks brothers throughout his career. Close told Sherman that the 40-year-old southpaw is still undecided about whether he'll return for 2013, but most feel that he'll be back.

Yankees pitching coach Larry Rothschild told Jim Duquette of Sirius XM Radio that Andy Pettitte is "most likely" returning next season. Rothschild said Pettitte's family is "on board" with the 40-year-old coming back for another season, which would have been the main holdup. The veteran left-hander has indicated previously that he was leaning towards coming back. Rothschild added that the Yanks would most likely keep Pettitte under 30 starts in 2013.

Andy Pettitte hopes to make a decision about whether or not to return next season "in a month or so." He doesn't exactly have a clear timetable, but Pettitte definitely wants to make a decision sooner rather than later. "I wish I knew," Pettitte said. "I wish I had a set date or something like that. I know I want to make it as quick as I can. I would like to know. Hopefully, I can come to a conclusion in a month or so." The 40-year-old indicated earlier this month that he is leaning towards returning for another season.

Andy Pettitte turned in a strong performance in a no-decision against the Tigers in Game 1 of the ALCS on Saturday, surrendering just two runs in 6 2/3 innings. Pettitte walked three and struck five. He traded zeroes with opposing starter Doug Fister until the sixth inning, when the Tigers finally broke through. Austin Jackson led off the frame with a triple that glanced off the first base bag and stopped along the wall near the first base line. After a one-out intentional walk to Miguel Cabrera, Prince Fielder and Delmon Young delivered RBI singles to put the Tigers ahead 2-0. Jhonny Peralta then walked to load the bases, but Pettitte was able to bear down and get Andy Dirks and Avisail Garcia to prevent any further damage. The veteran lefty was on hook for the loss until a dramatic rally tied the game in the bottom of the ninth. Pettitte will take the ball again in Game 5 of this series.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi officially announced Andy Pettitte as his Game 1 starter for Saturday's ALCS opener against the Tigers. He'll oppose Doug Fister in the game. Girardi wouldn't commit to anything more than that, but it has been speculated that Hiroki Kuroda could start Game 2 on short rest, with CC Sabathia matching up against Justin Verlander in Game 3 of the series.

Making his 43rd career postseason start, Andy Pettitte pitched well but still took the loss Monday, allowing three runs over seven frames against the Orioles. Pettitte gave up seven hits, walked one and struck out five. The Orioles had just one extra-base hit on the night (a J.J. Hardy double), but they were able to scrap enough singles together against Pettitte to even the series at 1-1. It was a nice effort from the 40-year-old, though, as he's looked sharp late in the season and tonight since his return from the disabled list. Pettitte won't get another start until the ALCS, if the Yankees make it.

Andy Pettitte indicated to the New York Post this weekend that he intends to return for the 2013 season. "I know one thing: I know the competition and the desire to compete is still there, and I don't feel like I kind of got that itch out from the 70 innings or so that I threw this year," Pettitte said. "I was expecting to do a little bit more work than that." The veteran left-hander registered a cool 2.87 ERA and 1.14 WHIP in 12 starts during the regular season. He will turn 41 years old next June.

Joe Girardi announced his rotation for the ALDS on Saturday, with CC Sabathia obviously getting the ball in Game 1, and Andy Pettitte toeing the slab for the second road contest in Baltimore. Hiroki Kuroda will take the hill when the Yankees return home for Game 3, and Phil Hughes will complete the rotation and toss the fourth game. As anticipated, if a fifth game is needed CC Sabathia would take another turn.
