The Cubs will reportedly pay roughly $17.7 million of the approximately $24.5 million remaining on his contract. The Yankees have struggled miserably from the right side of the plate, so Soriano should be an upgrade. The 37-year-old is batting .254/.287/.467 with 17 home runs and 51 RBI through 93 games this season and holds an .806 OPS against left-handed pitching. He'll likely play left field for now and shift over to the DH spot once Curtis Granderson comes off the disabled list.
