Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that the Mariners' Adam Kennedy and the Dodgers' Jamey Carroll are among the Brewers' targets to replace the injured Rickie Weeks (ankle) at second base. MRI results weren't available after Wednesday night's game, but Rosenthal hears that Weeks is expected to miss 2-4 weeks. The Brewers were already in the market for Carroll before the injury, so they'll surely step up their efforts now. Both players would make sense, though Kennedy would be the more useful fantasy option.

Adam Kennedy's two-run single in the first inning would be all the offense the Mariners could muster in their 4-2 loss to the Angels on Sunday. Kennedy would go hitless in his next three at-bats. His second two-RBI effort of the month gives him 30 at the All-Star break. He's posted a .259/.308/.395 through his first 265 plate appearances this season.

Adam Kennedy went 3-for-5 with a double, a run scored and two RBI in a loss Tuesday against the Nationals. Mariners manager Eric Wedge announced last week that he planned to give Kennedy regular at-bats even after the promotion of Dustin Ackley, saying Kennedy would spell Justin Smoak at first base, Ackley at second, Chone Figgins at third and Jack Cust at designated hitter. Kennedy started at third and batted third on Tuesday, raising his dash line to .283/.320/.435. He'll continue to play enough to help out in AL-only leagues.

Mariners manager Eric Wedge plans to give Adam Kennedy regular at-bats even after the promotion of Dustin Ackley. "Adam will spell Justin Smoak at first base at times, spell Ackley at second base, make some starts at third base for Chone Figgins and some at designated hitter," Wedge said. "Adam will play regularly, just not at one spot." Kennedy has batted .270/.310/.425 with five homers and six steals over 174 at-bats this season. We're guessing he'll wind up spending most of his time in the DH spot, which is bad news for Jack Cust, who has already seen his playing time slip in recent weeks. Though he will obviously see his at-bat total take a hit, Kennedy should still play enough to help out in AL-only leagues.
