Dunn (.227/.346/.449) went 1-for-3 with one RBI against the Astros on Friday night. It was only a few days ago that Dunn was traded to the Athletics, but he's done a good job contributing with the bat. Dunn gives the Athletics a great on-base guy, while obviously keeping his power in the mix. Look for Dunn to see most of the DH at-bats here on out.

Dunn is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Mariners. Dunn made a nice first impression on the A's faithful Monday, going 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBI in his first game with the club, but he'll head to the bench Tuesday with lefty James Paxton on the hill for Seattle. The 34-year-old is batting just .154/.274/.288 against left-handed pitching this season, but given the A's offensive struggles of late, it seems likely manager Bob Melvin will find a way to play him regularly against right-handers.

Dunn went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer Monday against the Mariners. Dunn made quite a first impressive with his new team Monday. Batting average is always a problem for Dunn, but he is still a big power hitter even at this stage of his career. Being traded to a team with a chance to win a championship might lead to a rejuvenated Dunn and a big final month of the season.

Dunn said he plans to retire after the 2014 season, Bruce Levine of 670 The Score reports. In waiving his no-trade clause to join the Athletics on Sunday, Dunn will attempt to conclude his career with a World Series ring, which has eluded him in his 14 seasons in the big leagues. While Dunn could have a change of heart with regards to retirement based on how his season ultimately ends, those who own the slugger in keeper leagues may want to prepare to cut ties with him for 2015.

Dunn was traded to the Athletics on Sunday in exchange for minor league pitcher Nolan Sanburn. In acquiring Dunn on the final day of the waiver trade deadline, the slugger will be eligible for the Athletics' postseason roster. The 34-year-old Dunn has once again delivered his customary low-batting average, high-power output this season, but it's his on-base skills that might prove most beneficial to the Athletics. He'll likely be a mainstay in the lineup at DH against right-handed pitching for the season's final month.

Dunn said there is a "really good chance" that he retires after the 2014 season, but he has not come to a decision yet, the White Sox's official site reports. Dunn is nearing the end of his age-34 season, and he likely knows the offseason market will be limited for a mid-30s DH with waning power. His .351 OBP is his best since joining the White Sox prior to the 2011 season, but he also appears to be on pace for fewer than 30 home runs for only the third time in his 14-year career.
