Amarista will take a seat after starting three straight, giving way to Yangervis Solarte, who will make his second career start at shortstop. Chris Nelson will slide over to third base to cover Solarte's regular position. With the Padres set to square off against lefty Tyler Matzek on Wednesday, manager Bud Black likely wanted to get another right-handed bat in his lineup.
