Miller has been traded to the Braves as part of a four-player swap that will send Jason Heyward to the Cardinals. The shift to Atlanta firms up Miller's job security, while the Braves will have four years of club control on the former first-round pick. Miller has not tossed 200 innings in a big league season thus far in his career, but at age-24 he offers a much needed stabilizing presence in the middle of the Atlanta rotation. In order for the deal to be considered a success, the Braves will need Miller to push his strikeout rate back up closer to his 2013 level (23.4 K%, 8.8 K/9) after a significant slide last season (16.6% K%, 6.3 K/9) drove a spike in his ERA (3.74) and FIP (4.54).
