The Rays traded Hellickson to the Diamondbacks on Friday, SB Nation's Chris Cotillo reports. Hellickson missed nearly the entire first half after undergoing arthroscopic elbow surgery in February and finished with a rather unsightly 4.52 ERA and 1.45 WHIP over 63.2 innings. However, Hellickson enjoyed success immediately upon his return, posting a 2.61 ERA over his first seven starts (38 innings), and his 10 percent swinging-strike rate was his best since his rookie season. The Rays will reportedly get outfielder Justin Williams and shortstop Adrew Velazquez back in the deal.
