Hamilton (ribs) will be the starter in left field for Game 1 of the ALDS on Thursday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports. A bout of rib cage inflammation cost Hamilton the final two weeks of the regular season, but he received the green light to start Game 1 after taking live batting practice off teammate Drew Rucinski on Tuesday. Hamilton is just 6-for-27 against lefty Jason Vargas, Thursday's starer for Kansas City, though three of those hits have left the park.
