Morneau went 2-for-3 with his 17th homer of the season and two RBI in Friday's loss to the Dodgers. With the two-hit performance, Morneau raised his season batting average to .319, keeping him narrowly ahead of the Pirates' Josh Harrison (.318) in the battle for the National League batting title. If Morneau is able to hold off Harrison, he'd become the second consecutive Colorado hitter to claim the title, after Michael Cuddyer achieved the feat in 2013.
