Heyward (thumb) is out of the lineup Saturday against the Mets, MLB.com's Mark Bowman reports. Heyward was reportedly available off the bench Friday as a defensive replacement or pinch hitter, but didn't contribute in either fashion. He is out of the lineup again Saturday, and the team is not inclined to rush him back with their playoff hopes gone.
