Verlander allowed just one run on seven hits, he did not walk a batter and struck out four over 7.1 innings of a 10-1 win against the Royals on Friday night. It has certainly been a frustrating year for Verlander (14-12, 4.68 ERA) but with a huge weekend series that could decide the AL Central this weekend, he came up big. He suffered from a blister in his last outing, but showed no ill effects in this one. He'll attempt to keep everything going when he faces the White Sox at home next time out.
