Ruggiano (ankle) will visit a specialist, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports. The Cubs will send Ruggiano for an examination to gauge the true extent of the ankle issue, with his soreness failing to subside in recent days. A possible return date for Ruggiano is currently up in the air -- he's eligible to come off the DL on Sept. 7 -- but his opportunities will likely be limited upon activation, as top prospect Jorge Soler is expected to see most of the time in right field over the remainder of the season.
