Bailey (forearm) and the Reds remain hopeful that he can pitch again this season, MLB.com reports. Bailey has been shut down from throwing for close to three weeks now but still is not completely pain free. The right-hander said the small tear in his right flexor mass tendon is still presenting issues when he tries to grip a baseball, making it rather unlikely that he'll be cleared to progress from strengthening exercises in the immediate future. The Reds recently sent Bailey for a re-evaluation and are awaiting the results.
