Iwakuma had an atrocious outing by his standards Sunday, allowing five runs on six hits and a walk over just 2.1 innings. The outing Sunday was Iwakuma's shortest of the season. The five runs were greater than his total given up in his last five start combined. He also only struck out one coming off an 11-strikeout performance Tuesday. He was lucky enough to escape with a no decision, but couldn't get anyone out, throwing 67 pitches to get as far as did. The outing put a dent in his otherwise sparkling pitching stats, and he now sits at a 2.83 ERA on the year. He will look to turn things around in his next opportunity, which is scheduled for next Saturday against the Nationals.
