Though Bailey (flexor mass tendon) has shown improvement, he isn't ready yet to begin throwing. "There's a definite improvement from where he was prior to [the injection]," manager Bryan Price said. "But he's not ready to initiate a throwing program yet." Bailey also had an ultrasound examination Friday. He's increasing exercises, but there isn't a published target date for him to start throwing, let alone for him to return. Given the Reds' precipitous fall out of the playoff race, Bailey might not make more than a token appearance for the remainder of the season.
