McCarthy (8-12) tossed a gem Thursday against Houston, allowing just four hits while striking out eight in a complete-game shutout. Another day, another fine outing for McCarthy in a Yankees uniform. He now owns a 5-2 record and 1.90 ERA since donning pinstripes, and has been striking out nearly a batter per inning -- something he's never done in his career. McCarthy will look to keep the good times rolling against the Royals on Tuesday.
