Romo tossed a scoreless ninth inning in Wednesday's 7-1 win over the White Sox. While it is a small sample size, Romo has tossed four clean outings in August with a 6:0 K:BB ratio. His struggles this season aren't a result of a drop in velocity, rather a problem locating his pitches (1.60 HR/9 in 2014 after 0.75 HR/9 in 2013) and an inability to prevent baserunners from scoring (career-low 70.7 LOB%). Romo has done a better job with his pitch location of late, and the results are beginning to show. He is still a long way from earning back the closer role, but continued success out of the pen will earn him the opportunity should Casilla falter down the stretch.
