Encarnacion (quad) will begin a rehab assignment at High-A Dunedin on Saturday, Chris Toman of MLB.com reports. After he was initially prescribed a two-to-four week recovery timetable from the quad injury, Encarnacion has missed over a month of action, depriving the Blue Jays of some needed pop. Because of the extended absence, Encarnacion will likely require at least a handful of rehab games before the team feels comfortable activating him. With the Blue Jays falling six games behind the Orioles for the division lead following back-to-back losses, even the return of one of the game's top power threats might not be enough for the team to overcome the deficit.
