Jaime Garcia has opted to have surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome and will be sidelined for the remainder of the 2014 season. With the projected recovery timeframe for the surgery, it's unlikely that he'll be counted on to contribute to the Cardinals at any point during the 2015 campaign as well. The oft-injured left-hander posted a 4.12 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 39/7 K/BB ratio in 43 2/3 innings with the Cardinals this season.
