Jarrod Parker is expected to open the season on the disabled list due to tightness in his right forearm. Parker also dealt with tightness in his forearm at the end of last season, and it has cropped up again. The right-hander will visit Dr. James Andrews on Monday, at which point more should be known about his long-term status. The A's could also be without A.J. Griffin (elbow) for a while, so it's been a rough Friday for their rotation.
