Vernon Wells delivered a pinch-hit, three-run double to lead the Yankees to a 7-5 win over the Rays on Saturday. Wells entered Saturday's contest in a miserable 9-for-87 funk, but he drove one to the right-center field wall off Jake McGee in the bottom of the eighth inning to put the Yankees head. It was ruled as a ground-rule double due to fan interference, but the umpires allowed all three runs to score because it was determined that David Adams would have scored from first base. Zoilo Almonte had another fine day at the dish Saturday, so one big hit might not get Wells back into the lineup Sunday against right-hander Chris Archer.
